1. Wash The Washing Machine After Each Use

 One way to care and use the washing machine correctly is to wash it after each use. You can easily do this by putting water and detergent into the washing machine, initiate a wash cycle and let the washing machine wash or clean itself as it would wash clothes.

2. Soak Clothes 

Be sure to soak your clothes for some time before washing them. Some washing machines have pre-soak cycle to help you soak the clothes for a stipulated period of time before washing them. Soaking clothes before a wash helps to produce cleaner clothes and the washing machine doesn't have to do as much work thereby producing little lint.

 3. Open The Lid

 Ummm, why should you open the lid of your washing machine? Well, if you own and use a front loader, you'll notice that molds are always forming in the washing machine. This is because front load washing machines are manufactured with very tight lids to prevent leakages of water when washing. And this causes the washing machine to be permanently damp. Opening the lid of the washing machine after every wash will allow the water remaining after washing to evaporate and reducing the risks of molds.

 4. Use the right detergent

 Most people don't consider this to be important, but it kinda is. If you own a front load or High Efficiency (HE) washing machine, it is advisable to use the right detergent for that washing machine because it enables the washing machine to function as effective as it should. Get detergent with the HE logo on the pack. Also note that, for washing machines without automatic detergent compartments, you should put the enough detergent. Don't put in very little detergent and expect your washing machine to produce super clean clothes.

5. Get separate washer and dryer. 

Washer-dryer combos are pretty cool and convenient, but you should know that it causes the laundry machine to wear out faster. Also, washers and dryers work better individually so if you want to use your washing machine better, you should consider buying separate washer and dryer.
