What We'll Need

·         A small wash cloth
·         An old toothbrush
·         Baking Soda
·         Vinegar
These four things are all we'll need to clean our washing machine, they are very easy to come by and may even be lying around the house doing nothing so gather them and let's start cleaning our washing machine.

How To Clean A Top Loader Washing Machine

Step 1:
Fill the washing machine with hot water and run a cycle.
Step 2:
Add 4 cups of baking soda and run the cycle again. Running the cycle will help the baking soda to mix evenly with the water.
Step 3:
Let the water sit for 30mins- 1hr. While doing this, soak a small cloth in vinegar and use it to clean the other exterior part of the washing machine. Make sure you scrub very well and clean every nook and cranny, you can use an old toothbrush for better effect.
Step 4:
Drain the water, then use the vinegar-soaked cloth to clean inside the washing machine just in case the cycle didn't get every part of the washing machine.
Step 5:
Lastly, fill the washing machine with hot water and let the cycle run again but this time, let the water drain after the cycle.
Step 6:
After cleaning the washing machine, be sure to open its lid to prevent mildew. And there you have it. You now have a clean, mold-free and fresh-smelling washing machine.

How To Clean A Front Loader Washing Machine

Step 1:
Fill the washing machine with hot water but instead of running a cycle, add 2 cups of baking soda and let the mixture  sit for 30mins- 1hr before running the cycle because for a front loader, when the wash cycle has been completed, the water drains immediately.
Step 2:
While the mixture is setting, soak a small cloth in vinegar and use it to clean the other exterior parts of the washing machine. Make sure you scrub very well and clean every nook and cranny, you can use an old toothbrush for better effect.
